EP / 007 | Wade Hall, Leisure Activities: Making hospitality feel like home

It’s all in the details
🎧 EPISODE / 007

We speak with Wade Hall about dreaming up cutting edge hospitality concepts, making shared space feel like home, and the emerging social selling culture of food and beverage.

Dear No Contest Listeners,

There are a select few places that feel like wins.

Bars, restaurants, and hangouts. Environments with vibes that elevate our mood.

Special spaces and moments that give us the sense of exactly where I want to be ... in a world in which everything great feels like it's happening elsewhere, to someone else.

The staff has swagger (but no pretense). The food and drinks are stellar. The aura—at least momentarily—casts our anxieties, fears, and baggage aside.

The music? Just right. A soundtrack to a better, euphoric state.

If you’re in Chicago (and soon, other major cities), there’s a pretty good chance that Wade Hall has crafted this experience.

He’s one of those visionaries who built his expertise from the bottom up: sweating impossible hours in New York City at The Standard Hotel, running the bar programs at Rye House and The Dutch, and ultimately partnering up with other hospitality minds to help create Sportsman’s Club, Big Kids, Estereo, Ludlow Liquors, Larry’s, and so much more

In EP 007, Wade talks about what it takes to make shared space feel like home. The subtle but powerful details that help his projects stand out.

He also gives us a view into the future of hospitality: the ways in which scrappy creatives have changed the game with social selling.

If you’re interested in thinking outside the box, and to expand your perspectives on the 5-senses, this episode is for you.

Enjoy.
